PhD in Astrophysics

I am a second year graduate student at the University of Minnesota, where I am working on a PhD in astrophysics.  I grew up in central Illinois and attended Hillsdale College for my undergraduate degrees in physics and mathematics.  In addition to my academic work at Hillsdale, I also enjoyed playing my violin in the school orchestra, taking private lessons, and teaching numerous private and group violin lessons.  Additionally, I enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping, and horseback riding.  I have also always been active in my church, where I currently teach Sunday School and serve on several committees.  Of course, I also love astrophysics, and I particularly enjoy observing.
