Hello!  My name is Becca Dura, and I am originally from a small town in Northeast Wisconsin, called Porterfield.  The past four years, I have been living in Des Moines, Iowa where I attended Drake University and received my B.S. in Computer Science and B.S.B.A. in Data Analytics.  I have also been working at Humana the past few years where I have done a lot of work creating and maintaining predictive models for risk adjustment processes, and I am excited to begin expanding my knowledge of data science to areas outside healthcare.

In my free time, I always enjoy reading and doing anything outdoors, especially kayaking, hiking, and camping.  I also love traveling, especially to national parks and photography.  Some of my favorite places I’ve traveled to so far are Banff and Jasper National Parks in Canada as well as New Zealand.  On the other hand, if I could go anywhere in the world, I would go to Iceland, as its natural beauty and hiking trails look amazing.

At the University of Minnesota, I am currently enrolled in the M.S. in Data Science program, and I am excited to further develop my skills and knowledge of data science, especially within the areas of machine learning algorithms and algorithmic bias.
