To encourage students to use ZTF and other synoptic surveys, we are hosting a yearly ZTF summer school scheduled for August 16-August 20, 2021. You can find out more information at the program here. Application deadline in June 1.

Aimed at the graduate student level, the school will provide an introduction to major topics of current research as well as hands-on instruction in time-domain methods.  Students developing skills and science interests in these areas will be well-prepared for the LSST era. The workshop will focus on Jupyter-notebook-based, hands-on activities to interact with the ZTF data and simplify the extraction of scientific information. In particular, we will provide lessons on how to analyze both transients and variable stars, both using Bayesian inference and machine learning methods. The lessons will be given by professors and post-docs, and knowledgeable teaching assistants will be available for technical and scientific support.
